So Will and Peter have both mentioned that the side graphic got in the way of my entry text. I had noticed this when I set up the site, but I wanted to swap out the text banner with a graphical one that looked cool. I have now done that, at least insofar as my banner is now graphical. As for cool, well, I like it. More site stuff (and ragging on Will) after the jump.
The font is titled "Damn Noisy Kids" and it's at www.1001freefonts.com, which is where I go whenever I need some good fontage. The fonts are listed alphabetically by name, which is not that useful when one is looking for a particular kind of font. But there are lots of fonts there, with varying degrees of name profanity, as you can see.
This is about how I want the blog to look for now, while I come up with an even better design, which I intend to do eventually. All of the graphic design work you see here was pretty simple stuff, and I know if I ponder enough I'll have a few better ideas for how to snazz this puppy up.
Savvy patrons of the various prwdot.org blogs may notice a similarity in this design to the one at Will's blog, and this is deliberate. Mostly it's because Will's blog sports one of the coolest designs I've seen (and I've seen a lot of blogs), and because Will is in Japan right now and therefore can't do anything about it.
UPDATE: I haven't tried it, but I bet if you Alt-Tab between my blog and Will's really quickly, it'll look like Will's head asplodes... Just a fringe benefit of my 1337 dEs1gN SKI11Z....
People often ask me, "Josh, what would you like for Christmas?" Having learned the hard way that there's an implicit "... under $100,000.00 American" in that question, I invariably answer "Gee, I'm not sure, let me think about it." Well, consider the matter thunk.
... no posts for almost three weeks. That's okay, to my mind, because I haven't finished constructing the blog yet, and I'm not telling folks about its existence yet, so the only folks reading it are Peter, Amy, and the bot of that jerk who keeps sending me comment spam.
Lately, I've been finishing up some school stuff -- test and projects. I have a qualifying exam on Friday, and I'm not ready for it yet. So I'm signing off. I just wanted to check it with Peter and the bot. Hi guys!
UPDATE: Did I say almost three weeks. Over three weeks is more appropriate...
